Since the Great Recession, more and more working people have realized that the capitalist economy doesn’t work for them, but mainstream economics makes it hard for most of us to understand exactly why. Join author Hadas Thier, author of *A People’s Guide to Capitalism*, and the National Political Education Committee for the Socialist School of Economics.
This call will cover the basics of Marx’s analysis of the economy — including the labor theory of value, the profit motive, and competition. Why do mainstream politicians tell us we can’t raise the minimum wage? And why do socialists know that workers can and should earn more — and run society? You’ll leave this call with a new understanding of how to interpret the chaotic capitalist world around you.
